Week 2

  1. Urdu Keyboard Typing: add-on the Urdu keyboard, learn the keys, practice typing
  2. Boat Letters + Vowels ب ، پ ، ت ، ٹ ، ث 
  3. Vowels as Indicators: What jobs to vowels have?

Week 3

  1. Family Members: Share about your family and show gratitude
  2. Compare Families: Discuss and compare family structure with others
  3. Family Tree: Create a family tree using Urdu terms for family members

Week 4

  1. Jeem family ج  چ  ح  خ 
  2. Naming Objects: Use proper sentence structure to share about things you are grateful for
  3. Literacy: Identifying sight words; read small sentences

Week 5

  1. Singular/Plural: Show gratitude for things you have (more than one)
  2. Gather Information: Ask and answer questions
  3. Type Words: practice using sight words, letters in boat letter and jeem series, and sentences


Week 6

  1. Tall letters  ا  ک گ  ل  
  2. Plural Form (3rd plural): Continue mastering plural forms of nouns
  3. Possessives: Share what you and other family members own and are grateful to have

Week 7

  1. Non-connectors  د  ڈ  ذ  ر ڑ ز ژ 
  2. Colors and adjectives: Describe the things you have using adjectives of color 
  3. Size words: Describe the things you have using adjectives of size

Week 8

  1. Review
  2. Postpositions: Share where in the room you have the things you possess
  3. Literacy: Practice identify vocabulary words in a story using postpositions

Week 9

  1. “Hook” he  ہ 
  2. Likes: Use proper sentence structure to share what you and each family member likes.
  3. Shukr guzaar: Continue the theme of gratefulness for things you like

Week 10

  1. Review: Reading practice, answering questions, identifying sight words
  2. Presentation: Present booklet about family, likes, and what everyone is grateful for

Completion of Urdu 101 Activities (Deadline —-)

  • Make sure all lesson have been ‘marked complete’
  • Turn in all assignments
  • Sign up for the Urdu 102, and continue learning!
