Introductory Course

The course introduces both the spoken and the written language, with conversational proficiency as the primary goal.  The course emphasizes grammar, oral expression, and listening comprehension, and is designed to give students a practical command of the language.  Upon completion of the course, you can expect to be able to participate in basic everyday conversation.   

 

Three levels of Arabic offered: 

15 week course once a week online. Course Fee $225

13 week course twice a week online. (one weekday, one weekend). Course Fee $390

Saturdays 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm (weekdays upon request)

An assessment will determine the level of the student. 
Prerequisite: Students must be able to read Arabic.

The syllabus is designed for students to learn Arabic as a foreign language.   They will develop reading and writing skills in Modern Standard Arabic.  Students will learn grammatical rules, vocabulary, structure and methods of forming sentences.

Beginners Urdu 

15 week course once a week online. Course Fee $225

Saturdays 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm (weekdays upon request)

An assessment will determine the level of the student.

No Prerequisite.  

Become confident in speaking about your needs and wants in Urdu while also supporting the needs of others.  In this class learners will progress from learning how to name objects to describing them. They will convey their likes and dislikes of things and activities. They will be able to express emotions related to situations. Learners will differentiate between needs and wants and make requests based on scenarios.  The class will culminate in a final project to organize a collection drive based on a community’s needs.

 

Extended Learning and Differentiation:

Teachers will hold live classes once a week and assign interactive review and enrichment activities to be completed on a learner’s own time. These activities will help build up to the final project.

*Learners in higher level classes will have additional vocabulary and worksheets to complete. They will be given more detailed assignments to complete during their “own-time” session.
